Say A Prayer Each Day

I was taking my usual morning walk when a garbage truck pulled up beside me. I thought the driver was going to ask for directions. Instead, he showed me a picture of a cute little five-year-old boy.

"This is my grandson, Mahesh," he said. "He's on a life-support system at a Patna Medical College hospital."

Thinking he would next ask for a contribution to his hospital bills, I reached for my wallet. But he wanted something more than money.

He said, "I'm asking everybody I can to say a prayer for him. Would you say one for him, please?"

I did. And my problems didn't seem like much that day.

Patna- The Heritage of India

Patna is pioneer among selected towns of India having run horse-drawn trams as urban mode of transport. Other towns of India which experimented with trams (either with horse, diesel and electric) include Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Nasik, Delhi and Kanpur.

Now trams run only in Kolkata. Very few of us are aware that the founder of Kolkata Job Charnock spent more than a decade as the chief of Patna factory before founding the city of Kolkata in 1699 AD by integrating three adjoining villages — Sutanati, Kolikata and Govindpur. All these lesser known information about Patna are included in Bihar government’s first ever 120 pages colour book on `Patna: A Monumental History’. It contains at least 107 monuments of Patna. Bihar’s culture department has brought out a first ever book on Patna which would be formally released soon. The book, currently under print, contains information and photographs of monuments, historical sites, heritage and aristocratic buildings, landmarks, institutions, a few modern architectures, along with the information about some non-existent monuments. Patna’s aristocratic buildings include, Mariam Manzil (Anisabad), Sultan Palace (Transport Bhawan), Rizwan Castle (Fraser Road), Mazharul Haque’s residence (Fraser Road), Sachchidanand Sinha’s residence (Bihar School Examination Board), Badsah Manzil and Hajjam Saheb’s Kothi (both at Paschim Darwaza), Baoli Hall (Guru Govind Singh hospital campus, Patna City) and Quila House. The book contains information about most of the historical buildings and sites of Patna, including Kumrahar, Gulzarbagh press, Patna cemetery, Badi and Choti Patan Devi, Patthar Ki Masjid, Padri Ki Haveli, Begu Hajjam Mosque, Agamkuan, Kamaldah temple, Har Mandir Saheb among others. The book also talks about the advent of railways in Patna (1861). The present day Patna Saheb is the oldest station of Patna. Its name changed several times, starting from Begampur, to Patna, to Patna City and now Patna Saheb. The Danapur railway station, just outside Khagaul, later became the headquarters of the then `Company of East Indian Railway Volunteers’. The railway bridge on Sone river at Koelwar near Ara, which opened in 1863, was the third longest bridge in the world during those days, according to the book. “We have tried to incorporate in the book all the available information about Patna some of which are rare. This book is the result of the hard work of a dedicated research team which worked for months together,” said state culture secretary Vivek K Singh. The Hindi version of the book would soon be published, he said. According to book, the main secretariat was designed by an architect, Joseph Fearis Munnings of M/s Power, Adam and Munnings, Sydney, Australia. It was built by M/s Martin Burn of Calcutta. The building of Patna High Court was planned exactly, though on a smaller size, after the HC building at Allahabad, to suit the weather conditions prevailing here, it said.

Let me tell you all, I am working in Bangalore and I got the news from the survey that most of the start ups here govern and run by person who belongs to Bihar. How many proves you need now?? Maximum number of IAS and IPS officers belongs to Patna (Bihar)
So folks, FEEL PROUD to be PATNAITE

My Experience with Life

This is first time I am trying to pen down something. Though I am not a good writer, yet I am trying to write down something. May be this will be inspiring to someone and may be someone will think it as waste of time.

I always wanted to be most popular person in this world as all, and I started working hard in this concern. I had very tough childhood time. I was down with meningitis for a year . I lost one year of my life there. Yet I didn't fail, and started working from beginning again. I worked hard, day and night. I had taken my Engineering and started working for an Air Conditioning company in Delhi. I had designed big shopping malls, offices and residential building. I was happy to see my project plans in paper standing tall in front of me. That was my most happiest day for me. Next I had designed Radio Mirchi and Chief Minister's Janta Darbar in Patna. That day I came in highlight and my dream came true. So I request all you people and my dear friends, never give up in life, keep working hard to obtain your goal. You will surely achieve if you work hard for it with true heart and be sure WIN will be yours, only thing you need to do is to give your hard work time.
